Dhoom 2 -review

Certain movies are very attractive for the cast , others for concept...Dhoom2 falls in the former category without any doubt! But there are sub categories ; if you get lucky the overall quality is still good and if not you regret having watched it...options in the latter case is you "go with the flow" or "rest your brain" rather!! So Dhoom 2 inspite of the heavy budgets, strong star cast lacks proper script, flow and its like a movie made for the convenience of the stars...for example, lets hv bipasha in double role , without a good reason, lets have hrithik do all the stunts, AB baby (:P) has no proper role or presence in the movie, was Ash acting ? I dont know but what a waste of money really! And the songs are not great too,low quality lyrics in all of them except for the catchy "Dhoom Machale " title track. "Crazy kiya re" is catchy too but cliche lyrics, its a forget-soon song! Overall you would hated having chosen to watch it , unless you j...

First rain of the season!

Rains always excite me, its the most rare thing in the desert...I know I explained this over and over but the love for rain seems to be as big as that for sleep or food! I never get tired of these... Ya so, my point is we just had a small rain here this afternoon! At around 1400hrs when you expect the peak of heat, it was getting cooler and dim like the evening had begun! soon we had drizzle n small rain! As ever, the entire place looks amazing, the view outside my window right now is like picture perfect or close! Sigh! i am stuck in office!

Happy Children's Day!

There's no better stage in life than childhood, I refused to believe that as a child. Now, I know what they meant....miss being a child ! anyways, i think some part of us is still a child and I hope that remains with us always..!! Happy Childrens' Day!

back here...

No, I am not dead yet...LOL! I just had 3 weeks of hectic holidays, excuse 2 days in between were lot of fun....the rest was just continuous travel within India through different modes, suffering from flu and the kinda holiday that is so out of definition! The temple trips and outing with friends was worth, not sure if the rest was really worth it! All I know is I need another holiday that would live up to the definition and if i am lucky, thats coming soon! Expresion : hehe (LOL)

Upcoming travel

Not been blogging, just find nothing very interesting to share about! Either life's a drag or I am too occupied to think too deep!! I would like to think its the latter...:-) I watched "The LakeHouse" about couple of weeks back, it was a bad choice to watch on big screen, total timepass movie and really not worth making a trip to watch it! My Strategic Management lectures are on...they are pretty enjoyable since the lecturer is interested to go into details, give you varied examples and makes sure you are with him on the topic! Due to Ramdan timings I am having no traffic trouble, though the afternoons are still a pain, but I get some nap time before classes and Iftar timing is good to drive to Dubai! 2-day weekends are making a lot of difference as there is more time to spend with family and we leisure with getting lunch/dinner from out, so that's been fun! Some shopping is on , now need to complete packing.I am off to India for a lill less than 3 weeks -Diwali, gran...

Movie buff

Its been a while, September has been an eventuful month but mostly uninvited ones...so as a result , blogging about random stuff was just not happening... I watched Bas Ek Pal with S&V this saturday and we could have killed ourselves to have just gone by the star cast...though the movie has Urmila, Juhi, Sanjay Suri and (irritating) Jimmy Shergill, the storyline was depressing and the flow was so slow that i think a snail could win the race! Woh Lamhe looks good, though the story is predictable- the track "Kya Mujhe Pyaar hai" sounds very very nice...Shiney Ahuja n Kangana make a nice pair (from the GANGSTER fame). Anyways, keeping that aside, the next movie I am awaiting is "Pyaar Ke side effects".Its been a while since I watched a Rahul Bose flick...and this time its with Ms.Sherawat too!I have liked most of his movies, I feel he has added a new line to contemporary cinema....let's hope this flick is pretty good too!

Jai Ganesh!

Happy Ganesh Chathurthi to all ! May Ganesha shower his blessings upon you and your family!!

Yeh Dil Maange More...!

Its Abhishek Bachchan this time! Of recently, I am in awe of his talent, the characters he is taking up in movies, his clothes, his unshaven beard too!!! I would recommend Bluffmaster and though KANK can be quite a disappointment, AB baby rocks...I thought he was pretty cool in Yuva, Dus and Dhoom! I must admit I wasn't at all for his earlier flicks! The point is he can be the dreamy guy, conman, lying husband- laugh, dance quite well, get furious, be kiddish and even cry and yet is adorable...

Jai Hind!

To all the Indians, wish a very happy Independence Day! 60 yrs have gone by, besides hoisting the Tiranga, it would only be right to remind ourselves of every single soul who have given up their lives for our freedom! I miss being in India so much now! I miss all the colors ....seems so dry and awful to be in another country not having people to celebrate with ! its disappointing!Anyways, am glad for all those who are celebrating!!! There's no better country :-)

More bowling, burgers and the beach...

last weekend was fun! went out with Jess and her younger sis, along with Sam n Zorif ....after the pick-up , we headed to Thunder Bowl, the only place I have really gone bowling...I still didnt cross the previous score...this was the 4th time i think, took me time to get into the game and by then didnt score , only 1 strike; which meant worse than last time!! Burgers were the easiest choice to eat at the beach side and it was amazing to enjoy the calm there, except ofcourse for a few who wanted to prove their decibel-abilities over their phones! Oh! how can I forget , we had about 4 cats waiting for us to finish, not to mention I speeded up my gobbling! but it was fun, don't know when it will be possible to have a fun outing with Jess again, she will be married in less than 2 weeks from now! (Office is to myself, so I am busy listening to music and sometimes reading!)

Is it ok?

Is it ok to feel lonely in a crowd? to feel odd wherever you are placed? to feel unhappy whatever you do?? Is it ok to feel lost? to feel distant no matter however close?to feel there is no company better than oneself? to have nothing to say at times, no focus , no objective? Is it ok to just let people believe that all is perfect? Is it ok to think too hard, too deep? is it ok to dwell in the past? to be wary about the future?to have no control on the present? is it ok to sacrifice and let go all the time? to be called a child at time and grand parent at other times? to question where is the world running to and for what? to feel lack of need to fall into the usual cycle of life?to feel as though the missing pieces will remain so? Is it ok to not feel ok? Is it ok to indulge in such thoughts....?

Over the Hedge( nuts!)

An animated comic movie -"Over the Hedge" is a probable indirect mock on humans by the animals. Our lack of consideration for their inhabitation and the growing cities over few months whilst losing balance of nature is the highlight of this family movie. The story revolves around an odd collection of creatures who claim to be family and their meeting with a human-life and city-familiar Raccoon and their adventure. The hilarious highlight of the movie is how Food controls a human life! The best characters are Stella(the female skunk) and Hammy ( the nut-freak squirrel)!Voices and quick-wit are strengths of this flick. If you are an animation fan, this is no-doubt worth a viewing ;guaranteed to make you feel light!

Hosts claim the Bronze!

The Germans managed the third place at the FIFA World cup 2006; after having shed tears at the Semis 4 days back. They are glad and so are their fans; the country is celebrating! Schweini emerged the hero and Klose couldnot add to his top scoring list.Kahn(GER) and Figo(POR) made their way out of International Football as modern legends. The match however was not all that entertaining since we didn't see much of a fight back from the Portugese. The Finals to watched out at CET 20:00!

FIFA Semis..

The turning point at both the Semis... Grosso took Italy to the Finals while Del Piero confirmed the same....2 goals within the last 2 minutes, unbelievable Football can be! Germany shocked and so its fans....Emotions changed quickly at Dortmund stadium after about 2 hours of no score by both teams. While at Munich, France made their way with a penalty shot by Zidane and Portugal just couldn't score or had any luck with referee judgement for penalty appeal! To watch out now.... if France/Italy would be champions and if Germany/Portugal would secure the 3rd place!

Marking the end of half the year and only Europeans survive the World Cup Semis...

We are now left with 4 European teams; quite unsure about who would lift the 2006 cup! Now that crowd favortites- Brazil ,Argentina and England are off , Italy was the only predictable win! Theirry Henry and Klose remain my heroes as France and Germany enter the semis of FIFA World Cup 2006. My new hero is Ricardo who without doubt proved Portugese are better off than the English team. Crippled by the loss of a crying and injured Beckham and aggressive Rooney; the team couldnot even take advantage of couple of tense penalty shots by the Portugese! At 3-1; we soon had a whole bunch of England supporters crying at the loss ....The following match was also quite a surprise win as Brazil are still considered the best team!I hope to see re-run of the Brazil vs. France match before I comment on the match.... On the other hand, half of 2006 has already passed by while I think I was just getting used to the year 2006.Now when I look back- I did finally get my car windows tinted, got a new wall...

Phew!!some sense of relief....

Its one thing to have a deadline and another to meet it! While the former is a pain, the latter gives sooooooooo much relief.... I mean I submitted my assignment last night! I am going YAY! about it from this morning!!! [ I had no energy last night]:-) Frankly, ISM(Info System Mgmt) was evil, wicked, painful ....a subjectI couldn't bring myself to do any extra readings on! Dry,boring....while troubling Sam to get information was one side of it, getting down to write about it and analyse took me time! Thanks a lot for the help Sam, am sure you wouldn't wanna get involved in any more assignments of mine! Anyways, I am glad its gone for submission and a month later, I can worry about the results!eeks.... There is a next one is Finance, but thats gonna take time since lectures are still on plus I know and ,more importantly, like the subject! So I expect it to be more interesting !!! Its a Thursday and I dont want to work!I am waiting for 2pm to get home and have some yummy lunch! Oh!...

FIFA fever!! Lahm sets the pace...

International Football matches are something I have missed in a long time....Thanks to the FIFA 2006, I decided to watch football after ages or lets be precise...the last football match I saw was (Arsenal vs. Tottenham) was a year back which was different fun! For the 2002 FIFA ,I had the pleasure of being in Germany and obeserve the craze, the street celebrations and even big screens in offices, this time its at home!! Yes, we took the connection! I come home after Violin classes and I get the pleasure of seeing Lahm's goal in less than 2 minutes of my settling down...then on the game was pulsating. Costa Rica were actually good fighters, the birthday boy (Klose) was just too good and Frings' goal confirmed Deutschland's win!I was so excited that I watched the next game - Ecuador vs. Poland , and as predicted, Ecuador were too good for the Polish! Not a great game though... Ok, I am watching out for today's matches, but the awaited one is the Brazil team!

Ahem! The 6111 !!

Its been a while since I blogged....now the excuses are lately I have been trying to submit my assignment, so I am sort of done with that, editing is remaining...I haven't cooked anything interesting/new, I feel days are flying, I have not been able to go to violin classes. I am not getting time for anything and blah blah... So I decided to make a list for every month, hv some targets n keep in line with them...For June, its going to be fairly relaxing on the course side, heavier on shoppin side ! So i made a shoppin list n the first item was removed from my list last evening, Yes, I finally picked up the Nokia6111. Been wanting it for a mth or so, was waiting to sell the 6670, got a price higher than expected and parted with it....I love my new phone, its so cool-simple,compact with cool camera! :-) My new babeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Now I need to pick some shoes, a nice new purse, get my car windows tinted....lets see if I can do them during the rest of June.. ya, by the way, the search ...

The search has begun...

I don't think ever before I have been this scared to step into anything...I am not saying life has been a perfect journey so far, there has been bumpy roads, wrong moves, crazy characters, terrible situations, different kinds of tests and so on, but this move... Ya, I am talking Marriage, such a huge, important, delicate, life's turning-point kind of decision. All this while been taking it cool and smiling about cousins and specially friends' weddings or even engagements...didn't really think about how I would deal with the same situations. Some of my friends have relocated abroad , some found partners within India, some in the same city!My own sis has relocated and is happy about her life. I mean its been good all the while, no denials, but its like smelling the coffee before tasting it to really feel it!! All said and done, if you choose a partner that you have already met and known for a while, am sure things would move more confidently into a marriage, no comments abou...

ill health, movies!

I have not been blogging for some time, just caught with the routine activities...plus I got sick in the middle of the past week. I was having a a really busy week and with lack of sleep, I guess I caught the flu which is in the air here these days! It has started with the throat and hope I feel relieved by tomorrow which would mark one week of cough, cold, headache, fever and giddiness!!!Also these drugs make you soo drowsy that you wonder where the days flew! Besides that , I have been watching couple of not-so-recent movies. I happened with Cinderella Man which was based on the life of Jim Braddock,a boxing champion of the Great Depression time.I think the movie is beautifully made and Paul Giammati has done a great job besides Russel Crowe. The other one I watched was Duma- again off beat, a movie made for animal lovers and ofcourse by animal lovers. The beauty of nature captured so well, a touchy, delicate movie about a boy and his responsibility towards nature...well done, somethi...

Mission Impossible III

I am no MI fan! and I didn't think I would be going for this sequel .But having been invited to the most hyped movie these days, I thought why not! For such least expectations, MI3 was surprisingly entertaining...I enjoyed the movie! :-) Philip Seymour Hoffman did a great job in the negative role, contrast to his earlier movies. Ving Rhames- adorable and adds life with this genuine comical talents.Jonathan Rhys Meyers was soooo cute! I like this guy and I just bumped into the fact that he was the same attractive football coach in Bend it like Beckham.Tom Cruise was just so-so.The plot was pretty good and I guess they had to mix it with emotions, maybe to attract more crowd! :-P Let's face it, the quality of movies have deteriorated-but this one was still worth it for a lill more than a timepass....

Himesh bhai.....

Everyone's in love with Himesh and Bollywood is spreading this fever around at a really fast pace.... It's Himesh's voice/tunes/his own performance's thats at the top of every hindi chart.Don't you just love him..whether it is him singing thru the nose in "Jhalak dikhlaja" or painfully in "Tera suroor". I don't remember even one of his earlier tunes, but once he decided to voice his own tunes, he is such a huge hit! I am glad for him...aren't we all?So groove to "Zara jhoom jhoom" in celebration! Himesh har dil mein machaye dhoom...! ;-) p.s:- this is meant to be a side-y post!LOL!

A look at Holidays!

I took a week's leave from work since my sis is in town! :-)s! Yay!! Yea, Its great to have her back...From the time she was out of the airport till today we have been chit chatting and enjoyin the sibling togetherness after a year's gap! There are moments when I think this is perfection and nothing should have changed, getting back together was not hard at all ,its at the end of her leave that things are going to get tough again for me... Anyways, we chilled at the new shopping malls in town, dined out and went for long drives. We made it to Oman on Friday afternoon-a 2 day trip, it was worth it!Took a bus and while watching movies, exchanging comments was fun...once we were at Ruwi's Novotel, we didnt have a problem choosing which bed belongs to whom.(so glad!) and we more or less agreed on what channels to watch! Sultanate of Oman has to offer a peaceful, nature-loving, town-like simple living for its people. The country boasts of rich Islamic architecture and greenery , be ...

PRIME time!

Written and directed by Ben Younger( I was totally ignorant of this guy), PRIME is a romantic comedy, that's off-beat and very entertaining! All the lead actors are impressive -Meryl Steep, Uma Thurman and Bryan Greenberg. The most enjoyable parts of the movie are the uninviting mix of personal and professional life for Lisa, the kiddy ways of David, his pal and high-level of openess of Rafi with her trusted counseller. The movie makes you laugh while making clear the practicalities of life..... Must say the movie lives up to its tagline-"A therapeutic new comedy." p.s:- I enjoyed myself, hope you do too!

Birthday High!

My birthday was supposed to be a subtle affair but it turned out to be quite a surprise...the way my phone was ringing most the time, got some lovely e-cards and SMS-es wishing me , all felt simply great. A round up of gifts - Mikura, Flowers,Salwar material, Handbag, Cute cuddly and yummy pastry!!! :-) A huge Thankyou to one and all for their wishes, gifts and making my day soooo special!!!

New month, new quarter

The first quarter of this year, has been pretty good...Besides the ups and downs, I am glad I did quite a bit....I could review them as, - managed to finish my 3rd assignment...but the 4th one is up now and pending! - finally took up the violin classes and completed a lill more than a month there already! - completed a year with my current organization and got a raise too!(Now thats the perk for some months..:P). - did some money management finally, I hope that goes on well. -tried out many more recipies, that came out much better than expected! -had a good share of partying, relaxing and movies -Lost a few, gained a few ; gripping on, with the belief that -" nothing can last forever!".

Congrats Sis n Athena!

Last night when I was chatting to Athena, she reminded me...so here's wishing you a very happy Wedding Anniversary!! Hope you have a great time! I can't still believe that time has flown so fast, it feels like just some months back we met before your wedding...2 years, phew! And to my sis, its 11 months now! I can still remember the wedding function so clearly and what all we did soon before and after the wedding...then it was mixed feelings and now its like I am unable to really digest the fact that it will soon be one year....!! Have a great time ! Wishing you both many many more years of togetherness and happiness!!

Response from nature

The tag line of this picture is "Yesterday Bird flew....Today, bird flu!" "The boomerang effect" is precisely the response from each of our actions or you could also put it down as Newton's third law "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction." Be it plants, air, water, animals or birds, we get back for the cruelty shown to them. There is simply no escape!I clearly remember the very sad pictures of innumerable number of birds killed due to water pollution. We always consider ourselves as higher, but I guess its time we think again, the way the world is panicking about the new- found-fatal flu. Suddenly I feel we are bunch of fools still believing that we can control the planet!

Colorful Updates!

H a p p y H o l i ! ! ! Here's some colorful news for a change! LOL !! ;-) - Dubai stocks fell like crazy yesterday with investors panicking. Not that the trend has been healthy in the past 2 months. 2006 had no great start too but 14th of March was scary with the indices dropping down by 12 pc in one day, which would mean more than 50 pc fall from November 05( highest ever)!! Emaar also reached its lowest ever along with many other major stocks.Yea, volatile market and suddenly the region seems to have calmed down from a single-day experience cos even the Saudi markets dropped around 5 pc and about 3pc fall for Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain. Not great news but calls for patience...it was called "Black Tuesday". -Did you know that Jayalalitha, the CM of Tamil Nadu has been nominated for Nobel Peace Prize this year? The World federation of Tamil Youth has nominated Jayalalitha's name from India, Sharjah(UAE) and the US, for her "dedicated efforts in ushering Peace, P...

Escape to One & Only

I enjoyed a one night escape( that's how I want to call it) to a rich and spoilt resort far far away from the busy city of Dubai. It was almost end of last week that I had this opportunity to stay at One & Only - Royal Mirage located near Dubai Marina. I agree, drive to that end of Dubai can be painful especially when you are alone and are not quite sure of the route...but what the hell, if you have munch-ables, the right collection of music to blast and find the right people to pause and check on the route. Once at the Resort, it felt like a totally different world. The 2,000 acre area boasts of rich greenery, excellent landscaping, best of the restaurants, cafe's and bars, private access to the beach, 3 swimming pools in each of its sections- namely The Palace, Arabian Court and Spa. I stayed at the Arabian court-here the corridors can be so quiet that it could be eerie at times. Besides that the rooms are Huge with a lot of work on the ceiling, the bed and even above the...

DIWANI HANDI

A Sanjeev Kapoor idea, I liked it for the sour taste it creates. Its a good break from the usual!! TP, this is the recipe that I had mentioned to you on chat a couple of days back. Sis and Athena, maybe you want to try this as well! Good luck and tell me how it was…. INGREDIENTS -Potatoes ….3 medium sized -Carrots……3 medium sized -French beans…10-12 -Brinjals…..4-6 small sized(baby ones are best) -Onions….2 medium sized -Ginger….1½ inch piece -Garlic…..4 cloves -Green peas….1/2 cup( I used frozen ones, you could use shelled) -Fresh coriander leaves…a few sprigs -Green chillies…2-3 -Oil….3 tbsps -Red chilli powder…..1 tsp -Turmeric powder…..1/2 tsp -Salt……to taste -Yoghurt….2 tbsps( I used slightly sour curd for taste) -Garam Masala….1/2 tsp You could add Broad beans about 10-12 and Fresh fenugreek leaves ½ bunch( I didn’t!) I am sure the leaves would help get better taste! METHOD 1.Peel, wash and cut potatoes, carrots into half-inch sized cubes.String, wash and cut Fresh beans and broa...

Get a clue...!

The Pink Panther(2006) was definitely worth watching contrast to the 4/10 review rating. A hilarious package- the kinda movie you want to watch to take your mind off the daily worries and you can laugh so much that your tummy could hurt! Steve Martin is simply superb as Inspector Clousseau - his accent and face expression perfect! Beyonce Knowles as Xania looks great and smooth sails through her small role in the movie.Emily Mortimer as Nicole has some awkward scenes with Steve that is supposedly comical ! :-P The movie is supposed to be based on the 1964 classic, but I haven't caught up with the orginal to make a justified opinion. All I know is with least of expectation I enjoyed the comedy, mostly , cos sometimes its forced upon us......this one is a must see to help feel lighter! Enjoy! p.s:- I miss the cartoon so much!

Siddhuism...

Is it just me or is Siddhu on practically all desi channels these days??! Not very long after the commenting on India-Pakistan cricket series, we have him commenting on India-England series. He makes it on News channel Interviews and group discussions on the topic. Not quite a cricket fan, I don't follow the in-depth analysis of cricket, but the point is how he stands out from the crowd. Nope, I am not talking his turban, I am talking about his accent, his excellent command over both English and Hindi and a big highlight on his body language! As I move over to watch the very hyped- SaReGaMaPa , I find Siddhu there too! This time he is all ready with his shaayaaris and rhyming philoshiphical lines . Whether the man knows much of music or not he definitely knows to awaken the crowd with his hosting abilities. His Hindi is perfect and he speaks with so much energy that no line goes without making an impression! This man is definitely doing a lot of running around....or have I been late ...

Here's the song...

PRECIOUS- Depeche Mode Precious and fragile things Need special handling My God what have we done to you We always tried to share The tenderest of care Now look what we have put you through Things get damaged Things get broken I thought we'd manage But words left unspoken Left us so brittle There was so little left to give Angels with silver wings Shouldn't know suffering I wish I could take the pain for you If God has a master plan That only He understands I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through Things get damaged Things get broken I thought we'd manage But words left unspoken Left us so brittle There was so little left to give I pray you learn to trust Have faith in both of us And keep room in your hearts for two Things get damaged Things get broken I thought we'd manage But words left unspoken Left us so brittle There was so little left to give

Yipee....its raining again!

Once again, this morning has begun beautifully.....It started off quite bright with chilly breeze but as I was almost reaching work, it just got darker and darker, the sun totally out of picture... Right now it looks like its late evening, with good rain, thunder and lightnin...The sea gulls always known to crowd in n behave like some collection, are now spread all over the park near my office. The climate couldn't be better and I dont think I can ask for more than this rare sight...Its so lovely... Thanks,Mother Nature!!

PRECIOUS

You probably heard the song by Depeche mode, its a lovely number for the truth it tells! With passing time, I believe things get stronger, more hard to bend and clarity comes through. I forgot the fact- that they also break easily due to its lack of flexibility......I forgot that they get so very precious that I need to also handle them in a delicate manner, else they get brittle....I forgot that I should not take them for granted....I forgot that nothing can last forever! Would you want to believe people through their words than action? WRONG! 'Cos words are forgotten though you may want to hold on to them...Actions speak louder and when they speak at the testing times, you realise what actually needs to be believed! You never tell anyone to "Stay Precious", it doesn't work ,as they are fragile....you show them their importance in your life and let them know how valuable they are to you...else they collect dust and before you know it would be difficult to identify and...

Rain is here....finally

It has been suddenly quite chill in the past 2 evenings...but this morning the rain was quite a treat....though the traffic was even worse, the continual rain n drizzle was a big welcome....i love rain, probably cos this part of the world, its THE MOST rare thing! I would now say...Rain , Rain come again!

Rob treat...

Once again, I hear this on the radio n I had to have the lyrics on my blog!! So here it is... "This Is How A Heart Breaks" Don't you wanna go for a ride Just keep your hands inside And make the most out of life Now don't you take it for granted Life is like a mean machine It made a mess outta me It left me caught between Like an angry dream I was stranded And I'm steady but I'm starting to shake And I don't know how much more I can take This is it now Everybody get down This is all I can take This is how a heart breaks You take a hit now you feel it break down Make you stay wide awake This is how a heart breaks Don't you wanna go for a ride Down to the other side Feels so good you could cry Now won't you do what I told you I remember when you used to be shy Yeah, once we were so fine You and I why you gotta make it so hard on me And I'm sorry but it's not a mistake And I'm running but you're getting away You're not the best thi...

BBQ party,bowling,burgers!!

Feb has been quite a treat so far.....close to completing 1 week, each day has been going quite well... I have somehow been enjoying all the extra work am getting in the office, its so much fun when more members are taking interest in what more we could do! inspite of working late , I have liked it! we had a holiday on 2nd Feb...so got my investments done and submitted my assignment before it was due! I also attended a BBQ party and it was quite a lot of fun...Food was a bit too much, felt so stuffed that night and got home pretty late. The bacardi aided good sleeping!I tried bowling for the first time and it was quite some fun!the right hand did ache the following morning but i am enthusiastic of a second try! Besides, all this I notice I have been eating too many burgers for 6 days! hehehe, not at all concerned but just that I need something new to try!:-) Looking forward to coming weeks....

Desi Treat

This weekend was quite a treat- a nice desi movie treat coupled with a desi dinner....couldn't be better! :-) RANG DE BASANTI was the movie venture for the week !I have been eagerly waiting for its release and booked seats a day prior to the weekend...the results ,you get the first row of seats to watch a Fun-filled movie with a message.Colors of all shades make this movie worth watching. It covers the basic feel of India, the people, their simple yet complex lives, the confused youth, the nasty religious groups, the corrupted ministers-its all in there! The movie focuses on a group of five who love college life and never want to be out of campus. An enthusiastic phirangi girl touches their lives through her interest in creating a documentary on India's real heroes. The movie revolves around making this documentary, how each one of their lives are at home. The latter part is all about losing a friend's fiancee' in an air force accident resulting from cheap and old parts used...

Big targets for a small month

January is not small, but it was for UAE in year 2006. We had expected and unexpected closure of business coming our way and hence right now, its hard to believe that we just have another fornight for the first month to complete! Yea, awfully short and I had actually some targets for this month. When my first target of my course assignment completion is just about half-done, I wanted to start with instrument classes and then move on to do some better finance management. All of this just half-done! I hope I just complete 2/3 targets within these two weeks. Gosh, Where did the first 15 days fly? (Words of a lazy head!) :-)

ONCE UPON A TIME....

There was Mike Papa in Romeo Sierra's life. While mutual attraction was the key point of the relationship, obvious it was they were different people.Over a period in time, their relation only got stronger and found each other hard to resist. The pleasure out of this relation meant a lot of Mike Papa while Romeo Sierra ,in some period, revolved life around Mike Papa. When things got stormy between the two, expectations changed, approach changed, much to Romeo Sierra's dislike. That boat which was built by the two, that boat believed would survive even the most terrible storm shattered.Maybe there was over confidence, maybe it was simply a wrong decision taken as to which direction the boat had to move on.... Mike Papa moved on quick-good for him.Romeo Sierra struggled to gather herself, build a new life-sometimes her silence spoke more than words, she forgot how to open up,she forgot how to speak about her innermost emotions, she acted numb to that area of her. Of rape and injustice

I don't quite remember when was the first time I had heard of a rape case but how could I possibly, when you hear about it all the time on the radio/see the case on TV or even read it in the news.Whichever paper you pick up in any part of the world, this news is just as present as any other regular news like a Bullion market update or even Currency strengths. What gets me so aggrevated is the news I read this morning- A sentence read to hang an 18 year old who killed a "man" in self-defence while he attempted rape. What did she do wrong?A young girl and for showing courage and saving herself from life-long misery gets a death sentence??? I heard about 2 weeks ago from my friend that a girl working with a call center was raped and killed by the driver himself.Further, a handicapped girl was raped by a gang of men after she was trying to look for help from another set of rapists. Whom can you trust?Where do you go if you happen to live in between such creatures? Which directi...

Snail paced start

New year seemed a pretty slow start.....work-wise and course-wise there has not been much of a progress. We are mourning the death of our Dubai leader now.Just realised that the 1st set of leaders are all gone.A new generation of leaders unfolds in all the Emirates now. May be a smooth sail is what lies ahead of a bumpy start!

J.K.Rowling's fourth adventure

Most of you would have kicked off the new year with parties, i did so with a movie. I am not a Harry Potter fan and I am quite amazed at Rowling's success and also the movies'. Nevertheless I was invited for the fourth film and I thought "what the hell"! Since I hadn't read the book, the expectation was minimal and I must say it was pretty enjoyable.More than Radcliffe I enjoyed watching Rupert-an adorable adoloscent and he did demand attention by his genuine skills! The movie is about Potter being chosen to participate in a tri-wizard tournament, against his wish and the tasks he is assigned in different stages. Go watch the movie to experience adventure in a fantasy and fiction land of wizards and witches...all in a school that is run in a castle. They have got the budget and quality shows.... Now, if you have read the book, I am note sure if you would enjoy the movie....mostly that's not the case if you know more details from the book!
