FIFA fever!! Lahm sets the pace...

International Football matches are something I have missed in a long time....Thanks to the FIFA 2006, I decided to watch football after ages or lets be precise...the last football match I saw was (Arsenal vs. Tottenham) was a year back which was different fun!

For the 2002 FIFA ,I had the pleasure of being in Germany and obeserve the craze, the street celebrations and even big screens in offices, this time its at home!! Yes, we took the connection!

I come home after Violin classes and I get the pleasure of seeing Lahm's goal in less than 2 minutes of my settling down...then on the game was pulsating. Costa Rica were actually good fighters, the birthday boy (Klose) was just too good and Frings' goal confirmed Deutschland's win!I was so excited that I watched the next game - Ecuador vs. Poland , and as predicted, Ecuador were too good for the Polish! Not a great game though...

Ok, I am watching out for today's matches, but the awaited one is the Brazil team!

Rare Snow day! 01/10/2021

After a grilling 2020, 2021 started out with a mixture of emotions - grim but hopeful, distant from family but long WhatsApp calls, rainy but looking forward to the sunshine in the coming days. A lot of R&R is how we started our New Years, thanks to the long weekend. We read, watched tv, cooked and slept a lot! Once work started, it didn't even feel very different from the past few weeks. Unfortunately a few days into the first working week, there was chaos in the DC Capitol and many State Capitols. A riot started by an infuriating and possibly out-of-work men and women wanting to display their passionate support of an incapable President. Back to feeling uncertain and grim about the future, we were surprised by Mother Nature providing us a rare snow fall day here in Austin, TX! It was simply amazing and a great 2nd Sunday of the year where we got 3.5-4 inches of snow ! The sights were remarkable during and after the snow fall. The entire city and neighbors were thrilled...

Fun weekend trip!!

South Lake Tahoe (Nevada) was our adventure trip this Saturday, about a 4 hr drive from where we live. we started early and until halfway i put my driving skills to test! the tuf time was for my hubby, not me...i was just glad at the opportunity!! :-)So i survived till Sacremento( i didnt know it was capital of CA). 2nd half of the drive was mainly on winding roads around the mountains while elevating yourself upto 7000ft! it was amazing as you get a scenic view of mountains n the lake below! awesome!! Once we entered the resort we first got a booking for para sail...I must admit from a distance it did look a bit too wild and so-not-like-me venture...but then the whole idea was to explore and try out new things...so went for it - from the 3 different heights of 400/800/1200ft we chose 800ft! i cudnt believe it myself, but i was in for it. so we walked around the beach area n enquired abt jet skiing while waiting for the parasail call.they made a group of 3 (a mother-daughter, a coupl...
