Desi Treat

This weekend was quite a treat- a nice desi movie treat coupled with a desi dinner....couldn't be better! :-) RANG DE BASANTI was the movie venture for the week !I have been eagerly waiting for its release and booked seats a day prior to the weekend...the results ,you get the first row of seats to watch a Fun-filled movie with a message.Colors of all shades make this movie worth watching. It covers the basic feel of India, the people, their simple yet complex lives, the confused youth, the nasty religious groups, the corrupted ministers-its all in there! The movie focuses on a group of five who love college life and never want to be out of campus. An enthusiastic phirangi girl touches their lives through her interest in creating a documentary on India's real heroes. The movie revolves around making this documentary, how each one of their lives are at home. The latter part is all about losing a friend's fiancee' in an air force accident resulting from cheap and old parts used

Big targets for a small month

January is not small, but it was for UAE in year 2006. We had expected and unexpected closure of business coming our way and hence right now, its hard to believe that we just have another fornight for the first month to complete! Yea, awfully short and I had actually some targets for this month. When my first target of my course assignment completion is just about half-done, I wanted to start with instrument classes and then move on to do some better finance management. All of this just half-done! I hope I just complete 2/3 targets within these two weeks. Gosh, Where did the first 15 days fly? (Words of a lazy head!) :-)

ONCE UPON A TIME....

There was Mike Papa in Romeo Sierra's life. While mutual attraction was the key point of the relationship, obvious it was they were different people.Over a period in time, their relation only got stronger and found each other hard to resist. The pleasure out of this relation meant a lot of Mike Papa while Romeo Sierra ,in some period, revolved life around Mike Papa. When things got stormy between the two, expectations changed, approach changed, much to Romeo Sierra's dislike. That boat which was built by the two, that boat believed would survive even the most terrible storm shattered.Maybe there was over confidence, maybe it was simply a wrong decision taken as to which direction the boat had to move on.... Mike Papa moved on quick-good for him.Romeo Sierra struggled to gather herself, build a new life-sometimes her silence spoke more than words, she forgot how to open up,she forgot how to speak about her innermost emotions, she acted numb to that area of her. Romeo Sierra is than

Of rape and injustice

I don't quite remember when was the first time I had heard of a rape case but how could I possibly, when you hear about it all the time on the radio/see the case on TV or even read it in the news.Whichever paper you pick up in any part of the world, this news is just as present as any other regular news like a Bullion market update or even Currency strengths. What gets me so aggrevated is the news I read this morning- A sentence read to hang an 18 year old who killed a "man" in self-defence while he attempted rape. What did she do wrong?A young girl and for showing courage and saving herself from life-long misery gets a death sentence??? I heard about 2 weeks ago from my friend that a girl working with a call center was raped and killed by the driver himself.Further, a handicapped girl was raped by a gang of men after she was trying to look for help from another set of rapists. Whom can you trust?Where do you go if you happen to live in between such creatures? Which directi

Snail paced start

New year seemed a pretty slow start.....work-wise and course-wise there has not been much of a progress. We are mourning the death of our Dubai leader now.Just realised that the 1st set of leaders are all gone.A new generation of leaders unfolds in all the Emirates now. May be a smooth sail is what lies ahead of a bumpy start!

J.K.Rowling's fourth adventure

Most of you would have kicked off the new year with parties, i did so with a movie. I am not a Harry Potter fan and I am quite amazed at Rowling's success and also the movies'. Nevertheless I was invited for the fourth film and I thought "what the hell"! Since I hadn't read the book, the expectation was minimal and I must say it was pretty enjoyable.More than Radcliffe I enjoyed watching Rupert-an adorable adoloscent and he did demand attention by his genuine skills! The movie is about Potter being chosen to participate in a tri-wizard tournament, against his wish and the tasks he is assigned in different stages. Go watch the movie to experience adventure in a fantasy and fiction land of wizards and witches...all in a school that is run in a castle. They have got the budget and quality shows.... Now, if you have read the book, I am note sure if you would enjoy the movie....mostly that's not the case if you know more details from the book!
