13th November

13th November has always been special ,from the time I could remember!Somehow, 13 is also my lucky number besides being lucky enough to still keep in touch with a chilhoodfriend born on that date.

At work,it was a light day.So I turned in my assignment and I am still waiting for a review comment.Cant wait to get that accepted and then I can work on the new modulein hand. The new module began the same evening.I went to classes after picking up aregular(veg burger) on the way.I swore never to go back to that Malu cafeteria again, though their burgers are so yummy, I have to look out for a new, closer place.

Human Resources is the new module, the subject so dry,I hoped to get some help from the lecture.Nope, I was wrong. Her slow pace / her south african accent didn't help me keep interest!I had asked too many questions cos theory is so difficult to relate to in real life,I must have sounded like a dumber-er,in the context of "Dumb-Dumber andDumber-er".Anyways, we winded up quarter to ten.(Ooh! so English!)

I called up my close friend after I got back home. After about dialing 15 digits, the ringing sound made me glad, ensuring that that was still a telephone number, and whenshe picked up my mission for the day was ful-filled! We spoke quite a lot, about hernew lifestyle, places, people, household chores, family, friends--a long conversationand giggles in between that made us realise that though it has been a long while, thewait was worth-while!I hope she had a great day,as contrast to me,it was just the start of her day!

It's wonderful how just conversations keep me alive-their deep ,soothing effect, lasts for a while....am glad!:-)

Suddenly I feel there's time in my hands....the following thoughts cross my mind... - that model on the cover looks awesome, how is that so? - if they actually airbrush pictures , then how come there is a good looking category? - i want to see a brand new juice in the market, tired of the same old ones... - i feel like shopping often.its more a thought than action. - i like clothes that some other women wears...i want stuff like those! - how come there is traffic only when i want to drive? - water is good for me, very good....keep drinking..has anyone tried flavored water? - is flavored water as good for health? - how come some advertisements are soooo good? is it just one person or a team? - when everyone is busy how come i have time? - how is it that my phone rings only when i want to sleep or when i am occupied? - why do i get tanned so quickly? - how come technology is always surprising to me? - why didn't i get into sports or music when i was younger? - why is it that some ...

Rare Snow day! 01/10/2021

After a grilling 2020, 2021 started out with a mixture of emotions - grim but hopeful, distant from family but long WhatsApp calls, rainy but looking forward to the sunshine in the coming days. A lot of R&R is how we started our New Years, thanks to the long weekend. We read, watched tv, cooked and slept a lot!  Once work started, it didn't even feel very different from the past few weeks. Unfortunately a few days into the first working week, there was chaos in the DC Capitol and many State Capitols. A riot started by an infuriating and possibly out-of-work men and women wanting to display their passionate support of an incapable President. Back to feeling uncertain and grim about the future, we were surprised by Mother Nature providing us a rare snow fall day here in Austin, TX! It was simply amazing and a great 2nd Sunday of the year where we got 3.5-4 inches of snow ! The sights were remarkable during and after the snow fall. The entire city and neighbors were thrilled...

On to the next chapter of life

This post is a long time coming... I don't need to give any excuses though, I am a new mommy after all! After all that baking, my munchkin arrived on 20th September 2013...yes very much on time baby! The first 5 days were extremely stressful as my precious one was under monitoring in NICU, which meant I didn't have the luck of holding him close to me in the first few hours and also a lot of separation due to us being in different rooms...it was certainly difficult. But as far as I recall I didn't cry at all since he was doing great and was perfectly healthy. He confused the doctors with his heart pattern in the first 2 hours of his life and then came back to normal on his own. I strongly believe he didn't take labor process well and certainly not the pushing part... poor little baby. After we got clearance from all his tests (God is great!) ; we were allowed to take him home. It was a feeling beyond words, a realization of how lucky we all were as a family and with...
