South Lake Tahoe (Nevada) was our adventure trip this Saturday, about a 4 hr drive from where we live. we started early and until halfway i put my driving skills to test! the tuf time was for my hubby, not me...i was just glad at the opportunity!! :-)So i survived till Sacremento( i didnt know it was capital of CA). 2nd half of the drive was mainly on winding roads around the mountains while elevating yourself upto 7000ft! it was amazing as you get a scenic view of mountains n the lake below! awesome!!Once we entered the resort we first got a booking for para sail...I must admit from a distance it did look a bit too wild and so-not-like-me venture...but then the whole idea was to explore and try out new things...so went for it - from the 3 different heights of 400/800/1200ft we chose 800ft! i cudnt believe it myself, but i was in for it. so we walked around the beach area n enquired abt jet skiing while waiting for the parasail call.they made a group of 3 (a
mother-daughter, a couple and us) and set sail.initially its a slow ride while you are being instructed with what you do /do not before,during or after flying....after which they set speed, bring up the parachute and hook you to.then in less than a minute u are "launched" gradually to your chosen height , gettin a bird's view of the beautiful place while the strong winds play with your steady position.before you are pulled back to the boat, u are dipped in the lake for fun and after a few more minutes as a 'bird', back at the boat....it was for me the craziest try in my entire life!! definitely worth it....
jetskiing was more or less as i managed, fun ride...hubby was too good with it and few covered quite part of the lake with the machine.the water sprays around you and we got to see rainbows in the water , making us feel like children....i cant remember the last time i actually saw a rainbow!
We bid bye to Tahoe vacation resort after the experience and drove to Reno tagged "the biggest little city in the world".All you get to see in the main street of Reno is Casinos and people walking in and out of them like they are going shopping....infact the streets are more of less empty as the casinos are filled up! i was astounished to see the amount of spending and craze in these places..i tried my luck in slot machine initially and was so thrilled at beginners' fortune.we then tried roulette and happily lost in the end after all the initial lucky guesses! Casinos are addictive besides the fun and its amazing how some games as good as kids' games can be mixed with money....according to me, an attempt is good but definitely not an affair!Our Saturday ended there and by the time we got home it was too early on Sunday morning...we came back with happy thoughts besides ofcourse tanned skin and bodyaches! :-p
