After a week!

Its been a while since I have blogged....not that someone would miss it.But I miss it ,since I have my diary collecting dust in a corner and last night when i looked at it I realised its really been a while.

Nothing much,I have just been trying to keep up with the assignment deadline and since its the subject that i am trying to like(but still hate),its not been easy.In a way I think its not been that bad but writing has really taken a long long time.If the draft is approved I am left with the final touches.

Last week was very disappointing. The promised workshop at institute was cancelled. In a way,i really that would have been beneficial.
King Fahd passed away and we were anticipating a mourning holiday for the same.No holiday nothing ! I'll be clear, people dont want to mourn but if u live in the Middle east, you will understand the importance of even that 1 extra holiday.Unlike India where ocassions of different religions are given importance, here we are left with just Eid to count on ,one at the start of the year and another towards the end!
want to know worse things?6th,ie accession day, was a holiday since the emergence of this constitution. That holiday has been lifted from 2005 on ,the reason-beloved Shk Zayed,is no more!
Even worse?Oman declared three days of mourning holidays, not allowing JA to come to Dubai and his Visa processing getting stuck up!How worse could last week had been?

Hey,how was my weekend?
well, lets see it felt nice to shop grocery for a while but then i lack patience and if such things are not winded up in a short while i feel restless.I would do anything to run to the counter, finish the billing and get out.Grocery shopping should be as simple as following a list made at home after a thorough check and you should just pick things up from supermarkets/hypermarkets from respective sections at the most reasonable price available, sometimes the cheapest price, but that really depends on what you are purchasing. You should be done in like less than 45 minutes including the billing time!I am not looking for agreement, but if you do i am glad.

and if it is time that needs to be spent that should be done in a quality manner.Meet friends, chat with them for long hours,go for a movie, dine with relatives ,go to the beach ,play a game whether indoor or outdoor! After all, you realise the importance when you don't get to do these things.

I couldnot watch any movies this weekend.Too much crap, they were.I spent time sleeping and oh yes!we went to a place called DragonMart.Hmmmm, summary is what you want, then its a huge chinese cheap stuff mall and it was so bloody crowded that you would want to wear an oxygen mask!I have never really enjoyed crowd, which is why I prefer malls like AlGhurair and Sahara center to Citi center and Lamcy Plaza! The experience was boring with no real stuff to buy and all food items, surprisingly, were double to normal prices!so much for not having a MRP concept in this region!

Ok,before I get into economics i shall stop here!

Happy Friendship day!!!

See ya later!

Rare Snow day! 01/10/2021

After a grilling 2020, 2021 started out with a mixture of emotions - grim but hopeful, distant from family but long WhatsApp calls, rainy but looking forward to the sunshine in the coming days. A lot of R&R is how we started our New Years, thanks to the long weekend. We read, watched tv, cooked and slept a lot!  Once work started, it didn't even feel very different from the past few weeks. Unfortunately a few days into the first working week, there was chaos in the DC Capitol and many State Capitols. A riot started by an infuriating and possibly out-of-work men and women wanting to display their passionate support of an incapable President. Back to feeling uncertain and grim about the future, we were surprised by Mother Nature providing us a rare snow fall day here in Austin, TX! It was simply amazing and a great 2nd Sunday of the year where we got 3.5-4 inches of snow ! The sights were remarkable during and after the snow fall. The entire city and neighbors were thrilled...

On to the next chapter of life

This post is a long time coming... I don't need to give any excuses though, I am a new mommy after all! After all that baking, my munchkin arrived on 20th September 2013...yes very much on time baby! The first 5 days were extremely stressful as my precious one was under monitoring in NICU, which meant I didn't have the luck of holding him close to me in the first few hours and also a lot of separation due to us being in different rooms...it was certainly difficult. But as far as I recall I didn't cry at all since he was doing great and was perfectly healthy. He confused the doctors with his heart pattern in the first 2 hours of his life and then came back to normal on his own. I strongly believe he didn't take labor process well and certainly not the pushing part... poor little baby. After we got clearance from all his tests (God is great!) ; we were allowed to take him home. It was a feeling beyond words, a realization of how lucky we all were as a family and with...
