Taare Zameen Par - my review

It is a story of how the harsh world crushes the heart of little ones - little ones who have the ability to think bigger than their school books, little ones who stop to stare at nature, little ones slower than their peers because they enjoy the tiniest things- little ones that are misunderstood!
So how many of us can really think out of the box? How many of us can use our mind to create? how many of us bother to build our own worlds of imagination from the most boring letters n numbers?
World encourages stereotype people- so if you top in school or college you are held is high regard but if you can't get to think out of norms, rules that is okay....you read and read what others have written seldom thinking of writing something new.
Here we have the protagonist , a 9 year old boy,Ishaan - filled with joy - joy collected from nature! Ishaan is extremely intelligent I would say more than even his elders at times, cos his imagination is extraordinary. While his brother just works hard at reading texts from school, he solves jigsaw puzzels, crafts out castles, draws fishes from the pond he saw, does amazing painting work !! Inspite of his abilities parents are questioning his lack of ability in reading and writing, the saddest being sending him to a boarding school rather than asking the little one what his trouble is and solving it for him.
Ishaan ends up hating school , ofcourse one would....I would ! If I say , I hate technologyu or crafts, it must be because I lack talent or simply because I dont comprehend! Ishaan just didnot comprehend reading or writing because of dyslexia. If his own parents didnt acknowledge, how would Ishaan? The result of their boarding school decision breaks his heart, he stops imagining, his eyes become too dry even to cry, he feels cut off from his family- these scenes break our heart....
Towards the end, through the effort of his art teacher- Ishaan masters reading, writing both numbers and letters, his imagination slowly returns.....like any artist he spents time with nature, absorbs the entire scenery by heart and amazing potrays the same on a white paper....
I would say the movie is sensitive, close to heart, tries to break the proto-typing practised on children. We do live in a rat-race world, but not all are as dumb as the whole lot...those few people change the world, they are true invetors!
The movie is well directed, theme and MA songs are excellent, Darsheel Safary is excellent besides Aamir and lets not forget the dialogues are outstanding!
MUST-Watch!

One of the best movies I have ever seen. Though I saw it I went through the post to see your interpretation.
I think the music by shankar ehsan and loy suits all the situations.
World has changed, technology has improved, but our teaching method still translates to monotonous mugging of concepts and books.

Still the chidlren back in south india carry bags heavier than them. Here is what I wrote aftre seeing the movie.

is what I wrote about it.

One of the best movies I have ever seen. Indian education is far more pedantic. Despite many progresses now, Indian education system is still the same.

I have seen the movie but read your post to see your interpretation. :-)

A Secret - I cried in many scenes.

Suddenly I feel there's time in my hands....the following thoughts cross my mind... - that model on the cover looks awesome, how is that so? - if they actually airbrush pictures , then how come there is a good looking category? - i want to see a brand new juice in the market, tired of the same old ones... - i feel like shopping often.its more a thought than action. - i like clothes that some other women wears...i want stuff like those! - how come there is traffic only when i want to drive? - water is good for me, very good....keep drinking..has anyone tried flavored water? - is flavored water as good for health? - how come some advertisements are soooo good? is it just one person or a team? - when everyone is busy how come i have time? - how is it that my phone rings only when i want to sleep or when i am occupied? - why do i get tanned so quickly? - how come technology is always surprising to me? - why didn't i get into sports or music when i was younger? - why is it that some ...

Alexander graham bell is still my hero!

We are at a point where smart phones are the norm in the urban world. infact, if you didn't have one, you probably balanced it off with a smart tablet. I use a smart phone as well. But after my big excitement of having a tool that would "connect" me all the time through emails, chat, texts, Social network, games and more, I am not as thrilled. So I did ponder and I realize it's mainly cos I don't use my phone for its basic use as much, I mean calls. I have also noticed that I receive much lesser calls. Lack of the real human touch is missing. So I made more personal calls in the recent past and it felt good. I felt more close to the individual than writing an email or leaving a note on a social media site. The reason is because the conversations would actually develop and makes it more complete. Unlike a "how are things" on an email or text. Many friends agreed we should talk more, no matter how "busy" we agree life has turned out to be! ...

Rare Snow day! 01/10/2021

After a grilling 2020, 2021 started out with a mixture of emotions - grim but hopeful, distant from family but long WhatsApp calls, rainy but looking forward to the sunshine in the coming days. A lot of R&R is how we started our New Years, thanks to the long weekend. We read, watched tv, cooked and slept a lot!  Once work started, it didn't even feel very different from the past few weeks. Unfortunately a few days into the first working week, there was chaos in the DC Capitol and many State Capitols. A riot started by an infuriating and possibly out-of-work men and women wanting to display their passionate support of an incapable President. Back to feeling uncertain and grim about the future, we were surprised by Mother Nature providing us a rare snow fall day here in Austin, TX! It was simply amazing and a great 2nd Sunday of the year where we got 3.5-4 inches of snow ! The sights were remarkable during and after the snow fall. The entire city and neighbors were thrilled...
