Mission peak hike

1st Sunday of November, the clocks moved 1 hour backward and the feeling is just great...like you are granted an extra hour and tested as to how you use it! this is the first time i am experiencing a time change and having slept till 10.30 i was guessing this sunday should be as lazy and eventless as usual...but i couldnt contain my excitement when i checked the time and it showed just 9.30, to add to it was the bright sun lighting up the mood , a long due hike was to be put into action ! :-)

Mission peak was the nearest one and challenging enough for a first-timer like me. I was impressed by the crowd that hikes, specially kids who were at ease...i found the first half of the climb more challenging, getting used to the slopes- there are just about 4 resting spots in the entire climb and they are great to enjoy the view! Once at the peak, it gives you the "I am on top of the world" feeling...the salt marshlands can clearly be seen in white from that height and a lovely view of the city, almost like a helicopter view of the traffic! While coming down, it was asthough you have no control and just slipping away from the slope, overall like a run down! Gosh! it took us just half the time of climbing ....

We were headed for a sandwich lunch soon after...
Hike with trails are good breaks- this was a nice weekend work out!

A great break

Suddenly I feel there's time in my hands....the following thoughts cross my mind... - that model on the cover looks awesome, how is that so? - if they actually airbrush pictures , then how come there is a good looking category? - i want to see a brand new juice in the market, tired of the same old ones... - i feel like shopping often.its more a thought than action. - i like clothes that some other women wears...i want stuff like those! - how come there is traffic only when i want to drive? - water is good for me, very good....keep drinking..has anyone tried flavored water? - is flavored water as good for health? - how come some advertisements are soooo good? is it just one person or a team? - when everyone is busy how come i have time? - how is it that my phone rings only when i want to sleep or when i am occupied? - why do i get tanned so quickly? - how come technology is always surprising to me? - why didn't i get into sports or music when i was younger? - why is it that some ...

Rare Snow day! 01/10/2021

After a grilling 2020, 2021 started out with a mixture of emotions - grim but hopeful, distant from family but long WhatsApp calls, rainy but looking forward to the sunshine in the coming days. A lot of R&R is how we started our New Years, thanks to the long weekend. We read, watched tv, cooked and slept a lot!  Once work started, it didn't even feel very different from the past few weeks. Unfortunately a few days into the first working week, there was chaos in the DC Capitol and many State Capitols. A riot started by an infuriating and possibly out-of-work men and women wanting to display their passionate support of an incapable President. Back to feeling uncertain and grim about the future, we were surprised by Mother Nature providing us a rare snow fall day here in Austin, TX! It was simply amazing and a great 2nd Sunday of the year where we got 3.5-4 inches of snow ! The sights were remarkable during and after the snow fall. The entire city and neighbors were thrilled...

Uniquely Singapore-Day 3

As decided we started off to Sentosa island after packing some sandwiches and juices in for the rest of the day.Sentosa was some awesome experience. "Images of Singapore" being the best visit with the highlight of what makes Singapore and the wax models of the famous Raffles and other political leaders, also display of different birth and wedding ceremonies conducted in S’pore. The country takes its name from 'Singapura' which means land of lions, as seen by the fishermen in the early days. The "sky tower" by Carlsberg company was worth it too, where we got to see Singapore from almost 130 meters above sea level-this probably being the highest view of Singapore. Cinemania was fun but I have had better experiences before. Not to forget the Underwater world was amazing with almost 2000 different fishes, 100 different crabs, the Dugong attracting a lot of attention. This fish is named Gracy because of her graceful movement. She has the face of a baby cow, body ...
