I am more awake today, I slept so much in the weekend, like i had lost the privilege to sleep! (which is ofcourse nonsense).I have nothing particular to do. I got so mad last week when I wanted to blog about Las Vegas, almost at the end of my post, i lost the whole content! it was so discouraging....anyway coming back to the highlight - yea, we went on a trip to Vegas ,also popularly termed "Sin city" and "Lost wages", i particularly like the latter title.Mornings can be a lot os sight seeing with recreations of populars symbols from all over the world , photographers would probably love it.Some people take it slow in the pool ! It turns into quite a tease in the evening with the long queues at the night clubs and variety of shows.Famous pop artists Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera were in town besides a range of artists in comedy, magic shows strip shows and musicals. This ad i caught on their famous DUECE bus, said even Men love this show! I guess there's almost everything in Vegas, altleast most topics covered!
Being the long weekend and taking advantage of summer, we were among the huge bunch of visitors in LV,Nevada. To avoid the long drive and save some time., we took a flight from SJ airport, which is just about an hour .Vegas is fun, rich and spoilt. We took the monorail day pass to being our day with, but later realised it was quite a task to walk from one station to another.moreover monorails have just about 8 or 9 stops on the strip.the strip is just filled with hotels, casinos, structures from around the world. Its quite a mixture down there. If i think from south of the strip to begin with is "Mandalay Bay" where in we walked around the mall n casino there, for us the nearby "Luxor" was more exciting as it was mini Egypt in essence- it was a pyramid from the outside, the sphinx as the entrance and by the road, they had "pharoahs".Inside the luxor too they had similar structures which are worth the stop. MGM was the next hotel cum casino, which had an actual lion habitat in it. You would definitely remember Lion being symbol.though we didnt visit, we were lucky to see through the glass structure a couple of baby lions. We also explored Ceasers palace, that celebrates Italian history. As you walk around Ceasers, the structures done around will give you some feel of a Italian street. Venetian is also quite similar, they had lovely boat rides that takes u within the hotel premises- both exterior and interior. The interiors of venetian is like a palace-its awesome, the walls, the celings, the paintings- i would just go on admiring them! Near NewYork New York, they had Statue of Liberty done too!
There's Paris too in LV strip - we explored their version of Eiffel Tower close to midnight and compared to my experience in the real Eiffel, this was not bad at all ! The view atop Eiffel was a lit up Vegas strip , you could see the bellagio fountains (if lucky) and get the golden view of the hotels as well are more colorful ones.Flamingo for example was completely pink and Bally's in blue! Its definitely worth a trip after dusk.
Besides the sight seeing we caught a show at Circus Circus and the Masquerade at Rio, went for a crazy spin at "the ride" by Sahara,IMAX at Luxor, the show at Ceasers, exotic car exhibition and ofcourse the casino. LV strip is really big and it could take you close to 2 days to fully explore it, we had quite a task since we spent just a little more than a day. We took a ride to Boulder city to visit the Hoover dam ,very short drive from the strip, after which it was time to head to the airport. Vegas has amazing constructions, the modern architecture ,admirable.
The heat was also quite challenging to beat, considering the walking and we did end up taking the 24 hr bus pass which is more convinient since it stops at every hotel .But do watch out the traffic around there!
