A memorable trip!

18th of October was an eagerly awaited day last year. The family was all packed up fora fortnight's trip to India for my sister's engagement.I was visiting India after a year and half then which meant I was pretty desperate to 'feel' Indian for a break!

Bangalore was fun but the schedule was too tight to spend more than 4 days and I met upmany friends, went to favorite eating joints, was shocked at the traffic, happy to go to same old temples managed to visit shopping malls and Koramangala in particular had a new look to offer!Did the standard tour of temples in Kerala and soon we were in Bombay.

This visit was after more than a year and I couldnot really notice much changes due tomy poor knowledge of Bombay, however the attractive part was to meet favorites and though it was such a short stay it was all so worth it.The mehndi and last minute puchases...oh!what an atmosphere!SJ n NS made it to the functionand that was really nice of them! The function was a short one and I remember the episode of losing the 2300 -very weird story behind it!It never came back, thats the ending!

Return was very very difficult then!It felt horrible to just think of the long workinghours I used to do then and with the thought of the "emptiness" that Gulf has to offer.I remember as I put the bags down in front of our flat the watchman came with the newsof the passing away of the President!Yes,it made me feel even more gloomy!

A year has passed and sometimes it feels more than a year, with all the events that followed and now,I just want to re-live the trip again.....Sigh!

Suddenly I feel there's time in my hands....the following thoughts cross my mind... - that model on the cover looks awesome, how is that so? - if they actually airbrush pictures , then how come there is a good looking category? - i want to see a brand new juice in the market, tired of the same old ones... - i feel like shopping often.its more a thought than action. - i like clothes that some other women wears...i want stuff like those! - how come there is traffic only when i want to drive? - water is good for me, very good....keep drinking..has anyone tried flavored water? - is flavored water as good for health? - how come some advertisements are soooo good? is it just one person or a team? - when everyone is busy how come i have time? - how is it that my phone rings only when i want to sleep or when i am occupied? - why do i get tanned so quickly? - how come technology is always surprising to me? - why didn't i get into sports or music when i was younger? - why is it that some ...

Hey!!!

its been a while since we have had some news....s0 here we go, The most famous 22K jeweller ,probably globally, has asked its male employees to shave off their moustaches +facial hair to keep up with their jobs!the examples are set by the owner, himself ,the managers and all the male employees irrespective of the hierarchy!now,i find this news very very interesting!having to look formal is part of most jobs but shaving off moustaches, what formality would it create?does grooming have to go to this extent???what is most capturing is the 'pride' of these men who hail from the land that claims to be 'God's own country' seems to be hit..... So India and Pakistan,i still believe, could be the best neighbours ever, but we have decided to be influenced by political pressures even after all these years!Anyways, the point is while Indian films are "banned" in Pakistan the Indian stars are not!which goes on to show how strong piracy is.so we have ms rai, going over to thei...

The 1969 reunion!

My dad is currently enjoying "retirement", he recently tells me that he is soon having a 1969 college reunion! While just hearing that got me excited, the stories of how he found his college mates after 42 years was even more interesting. To begin with, he bumped into one of them and that kick started the whole process. They chatted about what they have been upto so far in life and if they were in touch with others. From there on, one thing led to another, he tells me. He met up with a few who never left town and stayed on for all these years. Today, they have managed to arrange a gathering of 25 classmates, all this without the involvement of Internet at all! Dad tells me that a couple of never touched a computer! That just concludes that the Internet is overrated and its sad that even if we are equipped with more tools, no one has time for another. So meeting up is pretty much a big deal in today's world. So proud of the 1969 batch!
