And yet again...

and this time I am targeting pomp,over-hyped, filthy-rich& made-famous weddings in India.

Not too long after we could digest an Arun Nayar-Elizabeth Hurley 2nd or 3rd knot this March, whatever you want to look at it as, the nation is filling the papers, TV screens and news websites, with the yet another hyped Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai wedding!

Where the plus 40 year old couple, could not get enough of 1 wedding, had another followed by the hyped arrangements and lavish spending...after which to keep the wedding alive, there were series of controversial stories such as inapropriate behaviour, mockery to religion, dis respect to parents and so on...

On the other end,the Bollywood wedding had a different opening - the prior weddings were botany based, the "real" wedding is coming up sometime soon(didnt bother with the details). I was told millions of rupees are being spent on this union and there are on-the-face controversy news, about who got invited and who didn't!!

The way I see it, wedding should not be given so much importance , what comes after is where the focus should be- be it an investment of time/money. How many successfully bonded rich, famous couples have we seen??

If the above mentioned rich and famous have become "Gods" of the society, how come they dont give back anything to this society? They are having wedding in the same nation where people dont get even a one-time meal - can't they provide one meal to the less privileged when celebrating with such abundancy? If they put their mind into selfless thinking- they could educate hundreds and bring welfare thus strengthening the country.....but ofcourse, I am asking too much, who am I to speak ?

and so yet again the stories continues... as the rich gets richer and the poor, poorer...

Hey!!!

its been a while since we have had some news....s0 here we go, The most famous 22K jeweller ,probably globally, has asked its male employees to shave off their moustaches +facial hair to keep up with their jobs!the examples are set by the owner, himself ,the managers and all the male employees irrespective of the hierarchy!now,i find this news very very interesting!having to look formal is part of most jobs but shaving off moustaches, what formality would it create?does grooming have to go to this extent???what is most capturing is the 'pride' of these men who hail from the land that claims to be 'God's own country' seems to be hit..... So India and Pakistan,i still believe, could be the best neighbours ever, but we have decided to be influenced by political pressures even after all these years!Anyways, the point is while Indian films are "banned" in Pakistan the Indian stars are not!which goes on to show how strong piracy is.so we have ms rai, going over to thei...

The 1969 reunion!

My dad is currently enjoying "retirement", he recently tells me that he is soon having a 1969 college reunion! While just hearing that got me excited, the stories of how he found his college mates after 42 years was even more interesting. To begin with, he bumped into one of them and that kick started the whole process. They chatted about what they have been upto so far in life and if they were in touch with others. From there on, one thing led to another, he tells me. He met up with a few who never left town and stayed on for all these years. Today, they have managed to arrange a gathering of 25 classmates, all this without the involvement of Internet at all! Dad tells me that a couple of never touched a computer! That just concludes that the Internet is overrated and its sad that even if we are equipped with more tools, no one has time for another. So meeting up is pretty much a big deal in today's world. So proud of the 1969 batch!
