Wedding preparations...

So we made a trip to India for a fortnight, I had to write a review- it was one of a kind.(though the characteristic of hectic is an unavoidable feature!)

For the first time- 5 of us took the same flight, thats jija, sis and 3 of us, so for a start it was exciting, and the new look of the Sharjah airport was extremely pleasing, very very refreshing! :-) AirArabia was as ever on time, love this airline, had all good experiences so far!

so we landed in Mumbai and crashed after a shower at my periamma's place.my cousin's little one was so cute, full of masti...the next morning was spent in selection of a suitable wedding card.Somehow it was easy to choose, since just 1 stood out in my opinion and luckily the higher authorities approved, even though they thought it looks a little small.after 2-3 corrections, the outcome was great! relieved at that work!

then we went get a lehenga for reception wear, now I love to shop in India - cos of immense competition, they make you feel like the king -from the street wallas to the huge showrooms, whatever your range!! in the first round , i chose a pastel shade, but didnt give it my final.rups' sis in law had invited to their place for dinner and she served us home made chaat and pulao with an icecream to "make me burst" at the end!(this is how cutie puts it, BURST,lol)

so the next day we explored a new place and there was this wine shade that seemed the best, again it stood out and ofcourse the higher authorities approved! so that was given for stitching. in the mean time i picked up lucknowis!we dined at Rajdhani, a Gujju thali joint at Nirmal Lifestyle, Mulund.Sumptuous!

the following day we had a 60th bday function and that was done very well , full fledged pujas and an excellent summer lunch (mango n jackfruit based!)

we left that evening to chennai using Jet airline- this time with periammai n sis...periappa was ahead of us...we put up at Dee Cee Manor hotel, a lifelong memorable spot!the following morning we started shopping for my sarees, my soon to be family had come over to see me. I shopped quite a bit in Chennai, all the wedding related stuff. We attended a wedding on 28th and that was quite some fun! the same evening after dropping periammai to the airport and finishing our worl, we felt like attending the reception too!

the best part was all of us( including jija's parents) were to catch a train that nite but due to lack of time we travelled in silk sarees upto the station! u can imagine the glares n stares to be dressed up for a night train! not to mention, our mother land is a world of starers , even otherwise! :-) we needed to change cos of the killing heat and yep, we did using blankets as our temporary covering!! phew! it was fun! I was travelling in a train after ages, cant even recollect when was the last journey- this one seems to be unforgetable ! we had dinner, read for a bit and slept.

We reached Trissur(Kerala) about an hour later than schedule...half hour travel frm the station, we were at granny's place! she was totally thrilled and ofcourse we made a lot of noise unlike her usually quiet environment! as usual we had a lot to eat through out the stay! the best was freshly done jackfruit chips! Amazing...we had a good darshan at Guruvayur and 2 other (Mamiyoor n Thiruvambadi). Besides that since it was Puram time, we couldn't really go to the village's devi temple! once rups , jija and his parents left, we made trip to Palghat+ coimbatore for wedding invitions. On our way back here, we reached kochi early and met relatives there for the same purpose. So we have had a quite travelling time, met a lot of relatives.

From the experience, heat in Kerala was the worst, Chennai n Mumbai comparitively had the advantage of good breeze! I didnt have a local number and I missed that a lot, keeping in touch proved painful !

In the meantime, i became older ;-) tsk, tsk.. my birthday!phew, didnt want to celebrate, feel sooooo odd this time around!

P.S. - It took me so long to blog about it cos i was feeling majorly disoriented till yesterday!!

Suddenly I feel there's time in my hands....the following thoughts cross my mind... - that model on the cover looks awesome, how is that so? - if they actually airbrush pictures , then how come there is a good looking category? - i want to see a brand new juice in the market, tired of the same old ones... - i feel like shopping often.its more a thought than action. - i like clothes that some other women wears...i want stuff like those! - how come there is traffic only when i want to drive? - water is good for me, very good....keep drinking..has anyone tried flavored water? - is flavored water as good for health? - how come some advertisements are soooo good? is it just one person or a team? - when everyone is busy how come i have time? - how is it that my phone rings only when i want to sleep or when i am occupied? - why do i get tanned so quickly? - how come technology is always surprising to me? - why didn't i get into sports or music when i was younger? - why is it that some ...

Alexander graham bell is still my hero!

We are at a point where smart phones are the norm in the urban world. infact, if you didn't have one, you probably balanced it off with a smart tablet. I use a smart phone as well. But after my big excitement of having a tool that would "connect" me all the time through emails, chat, texts, Social network, games and more, I am not as thrilled. So I did ponder and I realize it's mainly cos I don't use my phone for its basic use as much, I mean calls. I have also noticed that I receive much lesser calls. Lack of the real human touch is missing. So I made more personal calls in the recent past and it felt good. I felt more close to the individual than writing an email or leaving a note on a social media site. The reason is because the conversations would actually develop and makes it more complete. Unlike a "how are things" on an email or text. Many friends agreed we should talk more, no matter how "busy" we agree life has turned out to be! ...

Hey!!!

its been a while since we have had some news....s0 here we go, The most famous 22K jeweller ,probably globally, has asked its male employees to shave off their moustaches +facial hair to keep up with their jobs!the examples are set by the owner, himself ,the managers and all the male employees irrespective of the hierarchy!now,i find this news very very interesting!having to look formal is part of most jobs but shaving off moustaches, what formality would it create?does grooming have to go to this extent???what is most capturing is the 'pride' of these men who hail from the land that claims to be 'God's own country' seems to be hit..... So India and Pakistan,i still believe, could be the best neighbours ever, but we have decided to be influenced by political pressures even after all these years!Anyways, the point is while Indian films are "banned" in Pakistan the Indian stars are not!which goes on to show how strong piracy is.so we have ms rai, going over to thei...
