Oriental tour!

Next week at this time , I am hopefully blogging from my sister's PC. I am so very excited to meet her after what seems ages!!!!!!!!!

All the shopping, taking out suitcases to pack and choosing what stuff needs to go to laundry makes me so excited. I hardly sleep and when I do I am dreaming about her .Man, I have missed her like crazy!

The only time I have been to S'pore was about 14 yrs ago, so there's lots to more to expect in terms or modern infrastructre and places to visit-specially when I have forgotten my last trip almost completely!I faintly remember Sentosa Island, but nothing besides that.
Yes, there's some shopping also to do besides the outings, but mainly I am there just to spend time with her.

Phew! Can't wait to get on that plane !!

The 1969 reunion!

My dad is currently enjoying "retirement", he recently tells me that he is soon having a 1969 college reunion! While just hearing that got me excited, the stories of how he found his college mates after 42 years was even more interesting. To begin with, he bumped into one of them and that kick started the whole process. They chatted about what they have been upto so far in life and if they were in touch with others. From there on, one thing led to another, he tells me. He met up with a few who never left town and stayed on for all these years. Today, they have managed to arrange a gathering of 25 classmates, all this without the involvement of Internet at all! Dad tells me that a couple of never touched a computer! That just concludes that the Internet is overrated and its sad that even if we are equipped with more tools, no one has time for another. So meeting up is pretty much a big deal in today's world. So proud of the 1969 batch!

Interesting traffic discoveries...

Now that I am preparing myself to be equipped with a local licence, u can imagine me concentrating on the differnces in the road, compared to UAE.So here goes some interesting things i find on the roads here:- a) You may make right turns on red light on most roads here, after you check traffic for urself! b)The names of the street are parallel to the road, so look right or left not straight for directions! c) there are Sensors just behind the stop line at traffic lights, that allows the system to run accordingly--so cool! d) i didnt find a single cab or bus near my place! i think its cos my area is not city! :-( e)i like the center lane idea, that allows u to stay on it and wait until u take a left turn safely!
